The calibration of an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) involves the physical alignment, testing, and electronic aiming of sensors that collect data for the advanced driver assistance system in your vehicle. In other words, after replacing or repairing your vehicle’s windshield, the sensors, radar, and camera must be inspected to ensure they are properly aligned and functioning. Even a minor collision can impair a sensor’s or camera’s precision. Even after the new windshield has been installed, a substantial amount of preparatory work must be completed before recalibration can begin. Before our glass specialists can begin recalibration, the vehicle must conform to the manufacturer’s guidelines. Here are some instances:
- There are no heavy items in the vehicle or trunk.
- Tyres inflated to the proper pressures.
- The ride height is within the specifications.
- Full fuel tank.
- If applicable, clean the windshield in front of the camera sensor.
- Remove the radar sensor’s protective cover (if applicable).
- The alignment of all four wheels is performed (where specified).
